The Science Museum is the place to be on Saturday afternoons! You'll have a blast with hands-on activities, science demos, interactive exhibits and more! Check out our fun lineup of topics and activities.

Saturday, April 26 – Earth Day

At noon and 2:00 pm see how many drops of water you can fit on a penny. At 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. test water for pollution. At other Earth Day activities discover how to clean up an oil spill.

May 3 – Solar Day

At noon and 2:00 pm use a small solar panel to make a fan turn. Tour the Virginia Tech Solar House at 1:00 and 3:00 pm.

May 10 – National Astronomy Day

Discover how to identify summer stars and constellations at noon and 2 p.m. Look directly at the sun through safe telescopes at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm — weather permitting.

May 17 – Medicine Day

Take your blood pressure at noon and 2:00 pm Identify bones on X-rays at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm

May 24 – Physics Day

At noon and 2:00 p.m see a ping pong ball float on air. At 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. race a paper ball and a flat piece of paper.

May 31 – Catch a Ride Day

At noon and 2:00 pm ride a historic streetcar — weather permitting. At 1:00 and 3:00 pm learn how to operate a Segway.
