LightPlace is a bright experience for our youngest scientists. This multi-faceted exploratory learning place promotes skill development in infants to 5-year-olds with age appropriate hands-on learning activities.
Engage your children to play, explore and learn in a setting that advances problem solving, social and environmental awareness, motor skills, sensory perception, object identification and introductory reading and math activities. Multi-sensory activities in LightPlace support developmental milestones that cultivate 21st century learning skill sets and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) concepts.
New this summer! The Museum has added two new weekly programs targeted to preschoolers! Young Naturalist (Tuesday at 10:30 am) explores plants and the insects and animals that are attracted to them. Animal Keepers (Wednesday at 10:30 am) uses puppet ambassadors to help show how animals live both at the Museum and out in the wild. These new programs take place in the LightPlace exhibit and include a 20-minute educator-led story, song and activity. Included with Museum admission.
